When I first looked at the front cover, I thought of the scriptural passage Matthew 24:36-39, and wondered what sort of approach would Dr. Jeremiah take on this difficult subject. I say difficult, because many in history have failed to interpret Biblical prophesy, especially when trying to determine “Who is the AntiChrist?” and “What day will the rapture take place?” Thankfully, Dr. Jeremiah doesn’t name a particular man nor does he attempt an exact date. What in the World is Going on is a careful examination into prophesy without Dr. Jeremiah turning himself into a false teacher or false prophet. His book refers to many things despite being a brief 259 pages.
He examines several passages of Biblical scripture, mostly Ezekiel and Revelations, and he quotes several scholars, authors, and politicians for insight. There is a glance into historical events such as World War II, the American Revolution, Israel’s rebirth, and 9/11. His book also speaks about political issues like oil dependency, moral decay, European politics, and the threat of Islamic terrorism. When Dr. Jeremiah does speak of the AntiChrist, he presents traits for this future evil based on scripture and past potential candidates like Adolf Hitler and Emperor Nero; there is also a chapter dedicated to the rapture too. My only complaint about the book is I thought the book should have been longer, otherwise I recommend this book to everyone.
